Is the IVF procedure painful?

With the advancement in IVF technology, the procedure has become quite painless compared to previous decades. You may experience some discomfort while taking hormone injections or during egg retrieval or embryo transfer, but the pain may not be intense.

Do IVF babies born pose the risk of having birth defects?

No. IVF procedure does not pose any danger from the process in the short or long term. Till now more than 80 lakh babies are born through IVF worldwide and are as normal and healthy as babies born naturally. Before starting the IVF process, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) may be recommended in some patients to evaluate various genetic problems that could lead to implantation failure, miscarriage, or birth defects.

What is Intra-uterine insemination or IUI?

Intra-uterine insemination (IUI) is a non-invasive ART procedure, sometimes referred to as artificial insemination. The sperm is directly introduced into the uterus using a small catheter. IUI is simpler and less expensive than IVF or ICSI and is recommended in couples with good ovarian or semen parameters and at least one patent fallopian tube.

Does PCOS affect a woman's fertility?

Yes. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that causes irregular periods and affects ovulation, making it difficult for women to conceive.

When does a doctor recommend IVF?

IVF is recommended when there is blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, low ovarian reserve, advanced maternal age, or male factor infertility such as low sperm count or motility.

What causes male infertility?

Male infertility may be caused by low sperm count, abnormal sperm shape, poor motility, blocked reproductive tract, infections, chronic diseases, smoking, alcoholism, obesity, or genetic conditions.

What causes female infertility?

Female infertility may be caused by age, fallopian tube blockage, PCOS, thyroid disorders, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, autoimmune disorders, or unhealthy lifestyle habits.

What is the difference between IVF and ICSI procedure?

In IVF, eggs and sperm are combined in a laboratory dish to fertilize naturally. In ICSI, a single healthy sperm is directly injected into the egg for fertilization, mainly used in severe male infertility cases.

What is the success rate of IVF?

The success rate of IVF depends on the woman’s age, egg and sperm quality, embryo development, endometrial thickness, and the expertise of the IVF center and doctor.

Patients travelling from outside Nashik

We regularly treat couples travelling from Malegaon, Dhule, Jalgaon, Sinnar, Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar, Ahilyanagar and further afield, as well as patients from other states.

If you are travelling a distance, tell us when you book. Monitoring during a stimulation cycle needs several visits over a short period, and where possible we schedule appointments to reduce the number of separate journeys.
